Abstract:

The design of the feedline is one of the important issues in the design of the shared-aperture phased array antenna. In this work, a feedline perpendicular to the radiation aperture is proposed to feed the Ku/Ka-band shared-aperture phased array antenna. It is a good solution to the integration problem that the feedline of the shared-aperture phased array antenna. As an example, a 4×4-element Ku-band and 8×8-element Ku-band shared-aperture phased array antenna is designed. In order to verify the feasibility of the Ka-band array antenna feedline, an 8-element 1-D array prototype is fabricated and measured. The results demonstrate that the scheme is feasible and has good performance.
