Abstract:

To reduce the incidence of thermal fault in oil filled equipment, this paper developed a thermal fault simulator device of oil filled equipment, such as transformer. The simulator is mainly consist of heating element-fault source, airtight enclosure, temperature control module, temperature measurement module, gas measurement module, and power measuring module. It can ensure the precision of temperature control through voltage regulation power, realize the all-round real-time measurement of temperature through temperature sensor with many roads, and achieve energy measurement through the power of control. The fault simulation experiments were also done by using the experimental device. The results show that the thermal fault simulation device simulates the development of thermal faults in oil-filled equipment correctly. It provides a basic experimental platform for further research on the pyrolysis phenomena and pyrolysis mechanism of mineral insulating oils under transformer thermal faults.

I. Introduction

Thermal fault is one of the two key factors influencing the stable operation of oil filled equipment [1] . Based on dissolved gases in transformer oil, the ratio method has played an important role in the transformer fault diagnosis, but diagnosis experience shows that shortcomings exist in application. So research of transformer internal thermal fault is still an urgent issue to be solved.
