Abstract:
The performance of power system protection systems can be enhanced by adapting their operating boundaries and criteria to suit the prevailing conditions in the system at the time of the fault. This paper considers the way in which a numerical impedance relay might adapt its operating characteristics based on features detected in its voltage and current input signals.
