Abstract:

The concept of embedded systems is considered. The advantages of developed embedded systems compared to general purpose are emphasized. The possible ways to develop microcontroller-based embedded systems design tools are analyzed. The features provided by MCU manufacturers are touched upon. The authors investigate the case of development of equipment for education, research and design of embedded microcontroller systems, effective from the standpoint of cost minimization for the developer when designing of full-scale prototypes, as well as effective in terms of the quality of training in this area. The structure of a stand is described in detail with its possible areas of application.

I. Introduction

The concept of “Embedded System” (ES) has a fairly long history of existence and established terminological meaning that, in particular, illustrates many independent publications, in particular, [1]–[3]. We will use the following integral definition of ES: Embedded system - a system of control technical objects or processes containing a control device (mainly based on specialized microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs and other elements), which is deeply combined (in constructive, technology and other aspects) with the object of control.
