Omnidirectional antennas of circular polarization (CP) are widely used in mobile, vehicular, and satellite communication systems, radio frequency identification (RFID), and radar systems due to their excellent coverage and fading-immune performance under multi-path environments. However, most of the existing omnidirectional CP antennas are of narrow bandwidth. Therefore, it is desirable to design an omnidirectional circularly polarized antenna that can operate over a broad bandwidth.
