Biography
Thomas Stieglitz (M'96) was born in Goslar, Germany, in 1965. He received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering with the specialty in biomedical engineering from the University of Technology, Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1993. He received the Dr.-Ing. degree (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering from the University of Saarland, Germany, in 1998.,In 1993, he joined the Fraunhofer-Institute for Biomedical Engineering, St. Ingbert (IBMT), Germany. He qualified as a University Lecturer on approaches for long-term stability of neural prostheses and biohybrid systems at the Saarland University, Saarbr|cken, Germany, in 2002 and established the Neural Prosthesis Group and IBMT.
