I. Introduction
Higher requirements have been put forward for the security and stable operation of power system accompanied with the rapid economic development as well as urgent demand for electricity [1–2]. It is generally recognized as an effective method to ensure the power system stability by choosing valid methods to check the working condition of power facilities and deal with them without delay if something abnormal has been detected [3]. The HV switchgear is widely applied and plays a critical role in on-off control of entire power transmission and distribution system [4]. However, owing to its particular characteristics such as small inner space, various parts, complex structures and short insulation distance, insulation defects would be prone to form which bring great risks to the safety of equiments, causing extensive attention all over the world [5–7].
