Investigation of an energy converter with an amorphous alloy magnetic core for a 270 V generation channel of an aircraft, taking into account climatic, vibration and electromagnetic conditions

The paper presents the results of a study of an energy converter with a magnetic core made of an amorphous alloy for a 270 V generation channel of an aircraft, taking into account the climatic, vibration and electromagnetic conditions. The basic mathematical equations describing the relationship between magnetostriction and the distribution of the magnetic field in the core are given, the results of computer simulation of electromagnetic and thermal processes in a transformer-rectifier unit with a magnetic core made of amorphous magnetic material are given.

I. Introduction

According to the International Air Carriers Association (IATA), CO₂ emissions from air travel for the whole world averaged 859 million tonnes per year, or just over 2.5% of the total CO₂ emissions associated with energy combustion. Back in 2009 IATA adopted a plan to gradually reduce the impact on the atmosphere in the aviation ships, which sets limits depending on the size and weight of aircraft [1]. The standard forces manufacturers to build aircraft with improved energy efficiency, which will reduce fuel consumption and thereby reduce CO₂ emissions.
