Abstract:
A method of testing in which the charged electrode of the test generator is approached to the unit under test, or coupling plane, and the discharge is actuated by a spark to the unit under test, or coupling plane. (A discharge might not occur to nonconducting surfaces.)
A method of testing in which the electrode of the test generator is held in contact with a conductive surface on the unit under test, or coupling plane, and the discharge is actuated by a switch on the generator after the electrode contact has been made.
A metal plate to which discharges are applied to simulate electrostatic discharge to an object adjacent to the unit under test.
Application of the test directly to the unit under test.
Application of the test to a coupling plane in the vicinity of the unit under test.
