I. Introduction
In recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless sensor network (WSN) became key technologies in wireless communication and information systems. To gather critical data, IoT and WSN are massively deployed not only in the urban area but also in a remote area with very limited access to the power source. Since the source power of those devices is typically only available from the built-in battery, power availability becomes a major issue in the IoT network. Replacing the battery or using a wired power cord is the conventional way to overcome the power deficiency. Unfortunately, this method becomes very inefficient with the massive number of devices deployed, due to high cost and time inefficiency for the installation and maintenance. We need to come up with a new solution where critical data can be gathered without worrying about the cost, time, and power limitation.
