I. Introduction
The power electronic components used in high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems lead to voltage distortion on AC side [1] due to transients produced by switching. Also, recently proposed insulated DC-DC converters for future grids operating in medium frequency range might implement silicon carbide (SiC) devices which offer high speed switching [2]. Due to the close vicinity of transformers with power converters in existing HVDC transmission systems, the isolation system of the transformer is exposed to high harmonic content, with a possible reliability impact.
