Abstract:

The most widespread use of wireless power transfer (WPT) technology is for use between two stationary objects. Generally, one object is the power source, and the second is the object to be charged; in this study, they are referred to respectively as the primary and secondary sides. This study focuses on modifying and applying existing equations for use in time-domain analysis to discern the behavior of WPT systems with an in-motion secondary side. The methods within this study approximate the complex WPT system and can be obtained faster and with fewer resources than the current industry standard of finite element method analysis.
