Abstract:

We herein use a Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) approach for vehicle display and control interface layout problem. Firstly, this paper analyzes various constraints encountered in the designing process of the display and control system and considers the type of widget and quantity of interface. Then we consider this problem as a multi-constrained two-dimensional bin packing problem. Finally, this paper establishes the mathematical model, where the object is to maximize the space occupancy rate of the interface. The simulation results with the test showed the effectiveness of particle swarm optimization algorithm.

I. Introduction

In-Vehicle UI Systems have been widely installed in vehicles to augment driving safety, efficiency, and entertainment, and the In-Vehicle User Interface Systems is shown in Figure 1. It is an important part of the vehicle system, and it is the bridge between the warfighter and the combat system, so the advancement of the vehicle User Interface system is a very important factor. But the traditional user interface system has many defects. For example, the traditional user interface system cannot meet the requirements of informatization in integrity, flexibility, and man-machine interaction. Therefore, the user interface of the future information In-Vehicle User Interface system should be reconfigurable, and users can customize their control interface in different scenes according to their own needs.
