Summary form only given. The complete presentation was not made available for publication as part of the conference proceedings. Systems biology integrates computing and informatics in the fight of global pandemic. Collective efforts in tackling various grand challenges entail collaborative research involving academia-industry linkage. As a continuation of the first Workshop held on March 5-6, 2018 in Hong Kong, this second Workshop in the series is hosted by Providence University in Taichung which is situation between two of Taiwan’s advanced technology industry clusters Hsinchu and Changhua. The workshop provides an excellent platform for exchanging innovative ideas between local participants onsite and overseas presenters online. The topics discussed not only covers current research on combating infectious diseases but also addresses the use of information technology for assistive and preventive care. As seen over the past few years that the health risks associated with seasonal influenza is comparable to that of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, technological advances in wearable devices and bioinformatics open up vast consumer healthcare market opportunities for boosting the overall health and wellbeing for senior citizens.
