I. Introduction
Since the last few years we have seen the tremendous increase in the biomechanical research. Femur is the strongest and largest bone in human body, extending from hip to the knee. It provides the attachment to many muscles and ligaments. The head of the femur fits into the pelvic bone and meshes with the acetablum, which forms the hip joint while the lower end of the femur articulates with the kneecap. The femur is capable of bearing the largest percentage of body weight during normal activities. The femur is always cylindrical, slender and long in structure. The upper end of the femur is smaller than the distal end.
