I. Introduction
The complex plants and systems such as chemical, petro-chemical and metallurgical plants are typical examples of continuous operating systems that have hundreds or thousands of technological parameters (temperatures, pressures, levels, flow-rates etc.) being measured periodically with a predefined sampling period. All these measurements are usually recorded and then analyzed in online or offline mode for decision making about the quality and the status (normal, abnormal) of the plant operation. In practice such large number of measurements pro-duce endless data streams because at each sampling period a new data point for the respective process parameter is added. The data streams are usually multidimensional (multichannel) in structure, where every measured parameter represents a single channel (parameter) in the data stream.
