Tweezers-Types of Electrodes in Video-assisted Thoracic Surgery for Lung Cancer at High Frequency Bands

Tweezers-types of electrodes have been proposed to help doctors who operate the lung cancer surgery. Main emphasis was placed on the principle of the operation based on the resonant circuit consisting of the capacitor between the electrodes and the inductor of feeding wire. In the first place, the tweezers were fabricated by using additive manufacturing technology. Next, the performance was evaluated with numerical and experimental investigations, and thus, the validity was successfully confirmed.

I. Introduction

Malignant neoplasm (cancer) which is the most cause of the death accounts for 30% of the total number in Japan, [1]. The lung cancer is the most severe factor of all kinds of cancers for both men and women because it is hard to find early and the number of death due to the lung cancer is increasing now.
