Abstract:

A geographically wide-area distribution is a technique to improve fault tolerance of an information communication technology (ICI) application. Geographically wide-area distributed applications can be affected by network failure due to natural disasters and disasters by human error. Failure Injection Testing (FIT) is a method to verify and evaluate a fault tolerance of a geographically wide-area distributed application. In this paper, the authors propose a system that produces whole FIT scenarios for a wide-area distributed application. Exhaustive evaluations of fault tolerance can show how the scenarios can degrade the application. The authors also propose a probabilistically quantitative evaluation method from the aspect of topological constraint conditions.
