Agile Software Integration in Telecommunications — a Case Study

Agile methodologies changed the way of software development in the last decades. However, there is still struggling with the implementation of agile methods in environments such as the telecommunications industry with its long lasting projects in complex and large system set-ups. In this paper, we present a survey on agile software projects in telecommunications and comparable organizations and a case study of a multi-year software integration project and its transition from traditional project execution to agile methods at an Austrian mobile network operator.
