I. Introduction
In today’s society, one of the main problems of senior people is that there’s no one to take care of them for all the time. So, if something goes wrong, if they are sick they are on their own and remain unattended. In maximum cases, simple weakness or illness turns into loss of life just because these elder people remain unattained. The motivation of this work is to provide a wireless heart rate monitoring system which can send SOS message or call to a pre-defined mobile number depending on how bad the current status of the heart rate is. The proposed system is consisted of ARDUINO lilypad, pulse sensor, ARDUINO UNO, SIM900A GSM module and to make the system wireless a RF trans-receiver module has been used. The pulse sensor in the transmitter circuit detects the signal from the finger and then sends it to the governing microcontroller which helps to detect the heart rate and depending upon the range of heart rate a message is sent with the help of the transmitter module. The receiver module in receiving circuit receives it and sends it to microcontroller of this circuit. Depending on the received message it instructs the GSM module to send message or call or stay neutral.
