Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to demonstrate how a system consisting of software written in Java and Xbee radios can be used to create a system that can monitor the battery status of a remote node in real time. The common battery related problems faced by wireless sensor networks are discussed in this paper. Through this paper, we have demonstrated how we can monitor the battery status, and remotely diagnose battery related problems in the wireless sensor network. The software also features a GUI which allows the user to read the battery status of wireless sensor networks and change the polling rate of the remote node. The information about the status of the battery of the wireless sensor network can also be visualized in real time.
