Antenna Measurement Comparison of 700–1100 MHz/R-/X-band Horn Antennas

A comparison of antenna characteristics (i.e., power gain, radiation pattern, and reflection coefficient) for 700-1100 MHz/R(1.7-2.6 GHz)-/X(8.2-12.4 GHz)-band horn antennas has been performed between Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and four domestic participants including private companies and public institutes. In this comparison, all participants have used the gain comparison method and conventional pattern measurement method in the far-field region of the transmit and receive antennas.

1. Introduction

As the national metrology institute of Korea, KRISS has been establishing and disseminating national measurement standards having international traceability and measurement technologies in Korea. For more effective and direct transfer of established measurement standards and technologies, the Center for Electromagnetic Metrology of KRISS organized the 'Antenna Measurement Club' of KRISS in 2008. Main mission of this Measurement Club is to share technical knowledge of measurements and to establish networks among the club members who are interested in antenna measurements.
