Design and Analysis of Decoupled Multiband Dual Antenna for Wireless Applications

Decoupled multiband dual antenna is proposed in this paper which is used for the wireless applications. The proposed antenna is a simple antenna structure and decoupled antenna structure which increases the effective bandwidth and also it consists of the protruded ground and slotted structure which reduces the coupling between the elements. The impedance bandwidth with S-parameter S11>-10dB satisfies the different operating bands. The mean effective gain, diversity gain and envelope coefficient are obtained from 3D radiation patterns. The results conclude that the proposed dual antenna achieve better diversity performance which is suitable for wireless applications.

I. INTRODUCTION

From last few years has seen the advancement of mobile technology with increase in the demand of telecommunication, so many new technologies like 1G,2G,3G,4G are arrived with better features to meet the requirement of users. From 1^st generation supports only voice communication facility and 2^nd generation provides the voice and data services only. The 3^rd and 4^th generation makes revolution in the mobile technology which supports many applications like text message service, Bluetooth, video appliances, real time voice communication, Wi-Fi and GPS etc. Different frequencies are required for these applications because of their operation. This can be achieved by multiband antenna systems. And also the limitations of wireless communication like fading, lower bit rate are remember in wireless communication systems when designing the antennas. One of the trends in mobile technology is decreasing the weight and size. For this the antennas used in the mobiles having the small size, light weight, low profile and is having the Omni directional radiation pattern.
