Abstract:

Defected ground structure (DGS) is introduced on top side of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) Resonator. Due to this DGS, SIW Resonator resonate two different frequencies with one Transmission zero between two pass bands. Both resonant frequencies and transmission zero can be controlled by changing the position of DGS. For filter design Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 with substrate height of 0.508mm & copper thickness of 17um has been used.

Introduction

With the continuous demand of higher data rate and different applications the modern communication system complexity increased. Filter is the basic component of any communication sytems. Filters can be designed through different guiding structure like micro strip, dielectric resonator, air-filled waveguides & substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) [10]. For selection of guiding structure, the comparative analysis is given [10]. Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) [9]–[11] technology has attracted much attention over the past several years for its ability to realize low profile and low cost planar components while maintaining high performance of conventional rectangle waveguide.
