Abstract:

On-load voltage regulation transformer is one of the effective measures to control the low voltage problem in distribution network. Traditional mechanical load switches have exposed many shortcomings in the continuous development of the power system. This paper proposes a structure of load switch based on the high power IGBT, and shows its hardware circuit design of the execution structure. The scheme has the advantages of no electric arc, high response speed and low maintenance cost. When dealing with the load fluctuation, it is able to detect voltage change automatically and adjust the voltage. It is helpful for the low voltage management, and it improves the power supply quality in distribution network.

I. Introduction

With the rapid development of economy, customers' requirements for high quality and reliability of voltage increase more and more. This makes the low voltage problems of distribution network affect the user's production and life seriously [1]. In August 2015, the national energy administration issued that, the action plan of construction and reform from 2015 to 2020 required to eliminate the long-term low voltage problems of distribution network basically by 2020. On-load voltage regulation transformer is one of the effective measures to stabilize network voltage. But the traditional mechanical load switch tap changing will produce arc, and it is unfavorable to regulate frequently [2]. Aiming at existing problems of on-load voltage regulation switch at the present stage, a load switch's structure is put forward based on the high power IGBT, and this paper gives the hardware circuit design of the execution structure in detail. The structure with IGBT device replaces the mechanical contactor switch completely, and solves the problem of switching arc and slow motion. Execution structure uses the hardware circuit based on microcomputer technology, and it is able to deal with the voltage regulation for load fluctuation. In order to achieve distribution transformer on-load voltage regulation without arc, it lays a theoretical foundation.
