Abstract:

As is well known that virtual reality technology refers to a computer simulation system, which can give users a full immersive feeling. In this paper, we propose a novel interior design framework based on virtual reality technology. The work flow of the proposed interior design framework includes three steps: (1) hard decoration design, (2) soft decoration design and (3) visual design. Particularly, the hard decoration design is just like the painting color or a background in theater, on the other hand, the soft decoration aims to create a home furnishing taste and role. The main idea of this paper is to present a virtual reality design based on Web technology. Our proposed virtual reality design method consists of three parts: (1) 3D modeling, (2) 3D display and (3) interactive implementation. Finally, some examples of interior decoration effect drawings are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed interior design method.

I. Introduction

The computer science not only affects our daily lives, but also changes the traditional architectural design method in many aspects [1]. Particularly, the Virtual Reality technology (denoted as VR), which is regarded as one of technologies which are most possible to change the world in the 21th century [2] [3]. The technique of virtual reality (VR) has become one of the most important and inventive technologies in the 21th century, together with Internet and multimedia technology, and virtual reality technology has been developed for more than 20 years [4]. Particularly, VR refers to a type of synthetic integration technique, which combines computer graphics, computer human interaction, sensor technique, artificial intelligence, robot technique, and so on [5].
