I. Introduction
Matrix converters (MCs) were first mentioned in the early 1980's by Alesia and Venturini. They are classified into two kinds of topologies: direct matrix converter (DMC) and indirect matrix converter (IMC). this converter has drawn more attention due to the development of power device technology and the evolution of high-speed microcontroller unit. These topologies are well-known with low harmonic input due to sinusoidal input/output current waveforms, controllable input power factor, operations in all four quadrants of the torque-speed plane because of the regenerative capability and long life due to the bulk store energy element is removed in dc-link [1].
