The impact of information technology to the project management effectiveness in the companies in Republic of Macedonia

This document analyzes the impact of the Information Technology application in the companies in R. Macedonia. The impact on Project management is especially emphasized. The survey includes companies in R. Macedonia, with various number of employees that mostly run their business throughout the projects. The results from the survey could be useful for understanding business effectiveness of the companies in the new economic and project environment.

I. Introduction

In today's modern economic and project environment many organizations rely on the tools and techniques based on information and communication technology (ICT) to provide appropriate working environment for running their businesses. However, significant share of their business is managed by projects. In addition, considering the recent surveys and research [1]–[3], it could be noted that there is a trend towards application of project management as a practice in organization to obtain and sustain a competitive business advantage. To be in such trend, companies in R. Macedonia are trying to implement, upgrade and innovate a modern project management, based on a current IC technology that is appropriate to their organizational culture and habits. The objective of this research is to understand current organizational efforts devoted to the ICT impact to their efficiency and project management practice. Some of the factors that influence the project success, related to their original constraints, are also identified.
