I. Introduction
Integrated starter generator (ISG) system is drawing more and more attentions in modern aircrafts because of its less volume and weight, especially in more-electric aircrafts [1] –[4]. Among many kinds of electric machines that can be used as a starter-generator, wound-rotor synchronous machine (WRSM) with brushless exciters becomes an attractive candidate for ISG because of advantages such as high safety (possibility of canceling of the field current in case of short-circuit and high voltages in the generation mode) and low cost in maintenance (without brush and slip ring) [5]–[7].
