Abstract:

Nowadays, the industry is discussing the different HDR Content Transmission proposals. There is no global standard of HDR Content Broadcast Transmission yet, which opens countless opportunities for global consumer's electronics in the future. For this reason, we propose an efficient Broadcast transmission with backwards compatibility with ISDB-Tb considering to actual standards. Additionally, each processing stage within a broadcast environment is further discussed, considering its limitations. Further objective measures are presented, evaluating a HDR test.

I. Introduction

Since the Television birth, the need of transmission of the more realistic scene-referred has always been a challenge in broadcasting service. Moreover the evolution of the display technology along the years was impressive. Additional, the advent of broadcast digital television and its respective implementation is a reality in the most countries. For these reasons, the consumer's electronics demand better user experience against more channels to watch.
