Active and reactive power sharing between grid and voltage controlled inverter considering the link inductor in a distributed generating system

This paper presents the steady state performance of active and reactive power flow between grid and inverter as voltage controller through a link inductor in distributed generating system. The inverter is synchronized and connected to the network through a link inductor that connecting the output terminal of inverter with the grid. In this paper, the design value of a link inductor between inverter and grid is also included. The design value of the link inductor is performed on two conditions, e.g., at the power angle 5 ° and approximately 90°. The link inductor value that gives the best performance on the system for the household scale DG application with 5 kW capacity is obtained at the small power angle 5°. With the appropriate design value of the link inductor in distributed generating system is presented in this paper, the best performance on the system can be obtained.

I. Introduction

One type of plants that use renewable energy is Distributed Generation (DG) [1]. DG is a small capacity plant that is located on power distribution systems. DG is usually placed on buses that connect directly to the load. DG installation has many advantages including increase the efficiency and reliability of the system and can improve power quality [2].
