Abstract:

This paper proposes a formulation scheme for communication data protocol at the application layer that can adapt to heterogeneous smart objects which may arise in the case of Smart Home application. Mesh-based design WSN is an attempt to realize the Smart Home concept, where DigiMesh topology is chosen as the basic topology in experimental setup of WSN. Mobile device is the main object as monitoring and controlling devices. Mapping the address and description of each bit in a predetermined protocol, then can be implemented in various condition. With the dynamic characteristics of the design of this protocol, the power cost can be reduced to a minimum. Protocol design has been successfully tested in scenario of monitoring and controlling function. Application of the CheckSum method is also reported to help in the detection error of data packet.

I. Introduction

Nowadays, our daily equipment need to connect to internet, because, we need to control and monitor their activities whenever and wherever we want. Thus, we need to implement Internet of Things (IoT) technology scheme for our daily equipment, especially home equipment. IoT objects may use different communication technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and ZigBee. Until now, the intensive research in determining platform and ideal system for the loT is still conducted. Stefano Bocchino et.al [1] use IPv6 over Low power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPAN) as the standard integration of the IPv6 addressing method and communication protocols adopted between IoT and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). They offer a SPEED routing method as optional alternatives from AODV, if first priority is soft real-time, load balancing and flow shaping mechanisms.
