Comparative analysis of power quality in commercial inverters applied to photovoltaic systems

This article proposes the analysis of the quality of the power provided by two commercial photovoltaic inverters. Initially the inverters are analyzed based on the recent regulations, afterwards the equipment is compared based in the measurement of the distortion rates and power factor during the analyzing period.

I. Introduction

Due to the shortage of the hydric and nonrenewable resources, the usage of new energy generation solutions is increasing to attend the required demand, in a sustainable and not polluting way [1], [2], [3]. In this context, renewable energies as solar, thermal and wind are earning their space in the energy generation scenario [4].
