Abstract:

The earth resources technology satellite, the remote sensing satellite and the early warning satellite play more and more important part both in the civil and military use at the present time, while the line of sight(LOS) measurement error under the influence of many factors affects the measurement precision of the target location, which is the urgent problem of the on-orbit geometric calibration of satellite. In this paper, the location error, the attitude error and the infrared sensor turning error of the geo-stationary earth orbit (GEO) infrared remote sensing satellite were analyzed quantitatively by mathematical model, which was used for reference. The allowable range of each kind of error were presented, which satisfying the measurement precision of satellite. The results are useful for the control of orbit, attitude and sensor of satellite, and also for the on-orbit geometric calibration of satellite.

I. Introduction

The various kinds of earth resources technology satellites, the remote sensing satellites, the weather satellites and the early warning satellites play more and more important part both in the civil and military use at the present time. The measurement precision of the target location is the key factor of the satellite, while the line of sight(LOS) measurement error under the influence of many factors affects the measurement precision of the target location, which is the urgent problem of the on-orbit geometric calibration of satellite. There are many papers about it[1]–[6]. Some papers didn't consider all the influence factors, such as the location error, the attitude error and the infrared sensor turning error of the satellite, some papers just presented the results of the error, which excluding the allowable range of each kind of error. In this paper, the location error, the attitude error and the infrared sensor turning error of the geo-stationary earth orbit (GEO) infrared remote sensing satellite were analyzed quantitatively by mathematical model, which was used for reference[1], [2]. The allowable range of each kind of error were presented, which satisfying the measurement precision of satellite. The results are useful for the control of orbit, attitude and sensor of satellite, and also for the on-orbit geometric calibration of satellite.
