The paper presents a solution that empowers Android users with service mash up. While the solution has a practical background of mediating visitors and exhibitors for trading exhibitions, it also reflects a number of challenges in service modeling and composition in such mobile environments. Besides such issues as system architecture, implementation and case study, the focus of the paper is on how to compose services and utilize composed services on mobile devices in an easy-to-use manner.

I. Introduction

With the rapid development of the Internet, communication networks and smart devices, social networking with interpersonal online communication and information exchange is gaining great momentum. Beginning with the text-only tools such as ICQ, the Wechat-like software nowadays is able to combine text, voice message, video chat and other advanced functions together. While such applications on mobile phones bring a lot of convenience to our daily life, efforts have been made to use this kind of software to strengthen our working environments. At the North China University of Technology (NCUT), a specific instant messaging mobile system called IMAS (an Instant Messaging Application for ExhibitionS) was developed to support trading exhibitions. IMAS enables exhibitors and visitors to find each other for promoting exhibitions, establish contacts before/on/after the exhibitions, exchange short message information, make meeting appointments, and fix schedules with the help of their local scheduler on their mobile devices.
