I. Introduction
Permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives are extensively used as high-efficiency motors in industrial applications and household electrical appliances. Interior PMSM (IPMSM) drives, which possess high-efficiency and wide-speed-range capabilities, are used in various applications. However, when the PMSM is required of increasing torque or miniaturization, magnetic saturation and cross-magnetization effects that occur in the PMSM are significant.
