1. Introduction
Microwave imaging has promising application for effective tumor detection because of an observable contrast in the permittivity of normal and malignant breast tissues at microwave frequencies [1]. The structure of image reconstruction algorithms of MT systems includes a forward electromagnetic (EM) solver and inverse EM scattering solver [2]. As far as the inverse problem has nonlinear nature [3], the reconstruction process is based on a large amount of solutions of linear EM scattering problems. The development practice of reconstruction programs shows that the mentioned properties make a consumption of big computational time and computer resources for the image reconstruction in frequencies of more than 3 GHz when standard EM solvers like FDTD are used. For this reason, we developed simplified fast forward EM solver and simple model of probe antenna for our reconstruction algorithm.
