Abstract:

Field measurements of partial discharges are an important tool for keeping transmission and distribution systems working reliably, avoiding in service failures and costly off line tests for maintenance purposes. This paper shows results of a research aimed to develop diagnostic tools for partial discharges failures prevention, in a case study of a 460kV 66.7 MVA reactor suspect of internal discharge activity. For the measurements, high frequency current transformer and antenna were used.
