I. Introduction
In electric vehicles, batteries with voltages of around 100–450 V are used to feed the drive train. While the exact range of this voltage is still under discussion, these systems have already appeared in automotive electronics. Undoubtly, the conventional 12 V on-board system is still necessary due to safety considerations for drivers and mechanics. Besides, the 12 V level represents an important link to conventional combustion engine cars with respect to economy of scale.
