1. Introduction
At millimeter-wave frequencies, several frequency bands such as 60 GHz, 77 GHz, and 94 GHz have been and are still the subjects of extensive research. For example, the 60 GHz band targets wireless personal-area-network commu-nications. With a 9 GHz bandwidth from 57 to 66 GHz available throughout the world, it can be used to transfer high-defi-nition files at data rates over 1 Gb/s. A lot of studies and many developments have thus been concentrated on the RF circuitry, the antenna elements, and their integration into suitable packages [1], [2]. However, without the possibility of accurately measuring the radiation performance of the antenna elements, it is impossible to evaluate the quality of the proposed solutions. The measurement setup we present has been especially developed for this 60 GHz frequency band, but it will soon be extended up to 140 GHz.
