I. Introduction
The screen resolution and display capabilities of a broad range of consumer electronic products, from televisions to mobile phones, have improved significantly in recent times. This is set to further increase with the development of Ultra High Definition Television (UHD TV) [1] with screen resolutions of up to and the ever increasing size and resolution of displays on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs. As very high resolution devices are released to market, and their adoption gains pace, consumers will expect to be able to make full use of the display capabilities of these new high specification devices.
