Abstract:

This paper considers probability density function of displacement signal for uncorrelated noise of laser illuminated object. The position of the maximum of the probability density function of displacement signal is derived in closed form versus signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the displacement signal mean value. The approximation of the width of the probability density function of displacement signal is derived in close form as well. The width is determined for values of the probability density function larger than 0.5.1
