Abstract:

The Bayes estimator and Bayesian shrinkage estimatior of the parameter of exponential distribution are obtained based on record values. The loss functions used are squared error loss and LINEX loss function. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the application for our result.

I. Introduction

Record values and the associated statistics are of interest and important in many real life applications involving data relating to meteorology, sport, economics and life testing. Among them are Arnold et al.(1998), Raqab and Ahsanullah(2001), Soliman et al.(2006) and Abd Ellah (2006) and references therein.
