A geometrical point of view over a battery mathematical model

One common issue in mobile electronic devices is the accuracy of available energy information. To implement a battery monitoring system requires application specific restrictions that are not satisfied in all cases by existing models due to their accuracy or required computational effort. In this paper we will discuss about the solution of a battery mathematical model derived from an electrochemical model of Li-ion batteries, as part of a novel approach for handling this model type.

I. Introduction

In some applications, like the wireless sensor networks, the use of a battery monitoring system able to provide an accurate information about the available state-of-charge on the network nodes level may lead to decisions that can prolong the network lifetime with up to 50% [1]. In that context, the routing of messages can be more efficient when the WSN nodes are aware of the energy available in their neighborhood nodes [2].
