I. Introduction
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consists a large number of a class of random sensor nodes that can observe, collect and process the needed information and transmit only the required data to the base station/end user for processing and decision-making. It is often important to conserve energy while transmitting data over long distance since the individual sensor node is a very power-constrained device, typically operate on batteries, which in many cases are difficult to replace or recharge. Thus, energy-efficient scheme for long-distance transmissions have been a popular attraction. These issues of transmission range in sensor nodes can be improved based on beamforming technology [1]‑[3].
