Abstract:
The magnetic fields of permanent magnet brushless DC motors surface-mounted with parallel magnetization magnets and radial magnetization magnets were computed with finite element method. The finite element computation results show that the air-gap flux density of brushless DC motor with radial magnetization magnets is increased by 25% than that of brushless DC motor with parallel magnetization magnets. For surface-mounted permanent magnet brushless DC motors mounted with radial magnetization magnets, the torque will be increased, the material costs will be decreased and torque ripple will be improved.
