I. Introduction
Optical microcavities have attracted great interest for several decades due to their ability to drastically modify the properties of light-matter interaction in the framework of cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED) [1]. The spontaneous emission (SE) rate in the weak coupling regime for a dipole placed at an antinode of the optical field inside the cavity is enhanced by the Purcell factor [2]–[4]. More recently the strong coupling regime has been realized in a semiconductor environment which is characterized by an coherent energy exchange between the emitter and the optical field [1], [5].
