A new method based on SOA for ACCS software integration

The aim of ACCS (Army Command and Control System) software integration is to facilitate information sharing among military command and control system and other information systems. This paper provides a service-oriented architecture (SOA) method of software integration based on the actuality of the ACCS, which includes developing an ESB-based integration model, using pattern integration and data duplication methods, and establishing databases. Authors developed several command and control systems with the method which proved it is efficient and can be used in military software development.

I. Introduction

Software integration is the central of ACCS integration which includes hardware, software (data and information), organization and management, and applications [1]. The aim of software integration is to integrate all the software in ACCS, including operating system, database, supporting software, and applications, as a united, har monized, common operating platform to facilitate software-sharing among different users. As we know, Army software consists of command and control system, intelligence and reconnaissance system, artillery command system, air defense command system, armed force command system, and other communication systems which should be inter-operated, but only operate separately. There are no common software platform, united standards among those systems, leading to no access each other, which is a major challenge to Army combat power. It is necessary to effectively achieve ACCS software integration. This document analyses requirements of ACCS software integration, describes principles which should be observed during ACCS software integration, and provides a SOA method of software integration based on the actuality of the ACCS.
