Abstract:

This paper proposed a method of building the rotor side power control system of DFIG. In the past works, the current control loops were turned to PI controllers and the trouble is to set the proper integral and proportional gains. By deducing the rotor side exciting voltage equations and using the S-functions, the simpler method of modeling were proposed in the paper. The performance comparisons with the well-established models and some typical simulations based on the new model were made. The results validate the rightness of the presented method.

I. Introduction

Wind farms built recent years in china employed the wind turbines based on doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), which has several advantages. Such as maximum wind power trace, relative small rating rotor side converter etc. With the increasing ratings of the installed wind generators, some crucial problems should be well known. Such as: the rotor inrush current generated by the voltage dip in the stator side [1], [3], the machine's fault ride through ability[2], [3], [11] and the characteristics of fault current provide by the DFIG. So it is necessary to build the model of DFIG and make simulations to research the machine's performances under various circumstances.
