Abstract:

In order to prevent and monitor the faults of the cutting unit of the motor and deceleration system of the shearer, this study analyses the shaft's torsional vibration transmission and provides a mechanical model of concentrated mass for EDW-150-2L Series electrical traction shearer's motor and deceleration system. Take the cutting resistance with simple harmonic vibration for example. The torsional vibration equation of shaft's output terminal is deduced theoretically and analyses its vibration type.

I. Introduction

Electrical traction shearer has a lot of advantages, such as good traction characteristic, reliable operation, long service life, good dynamic characteristic, high efficiency, used for deeply inclined coal seams, and so on. Therefore, electrical traction shearers with different sizes are widely applied in the coal mines in worldwide. However, there are two common faults, which are from the motor's cutting unit and the rocker and deceleration system [1]–[6]. And the cutting unit of the shearer need undertake a large cutting resistance, which will varies with time and space [7]. The biggest cutting resistance may be a few times or over ten times higher than the smallest one. So, the change of coal quality, especially the coal seam of the dunn base, can result in a sudden alteration of cutting resistance, and lead to motor's sudden acceleration, deceleration, or shutdown. These factors further intensify connecting shaft's torsion and vibration fault of motor's cutting unit and rocker and deceleration system. Shaft's torsional vibration with high concealment is different from shaft's bending vibration.
